Boracay, a small island in the central Philippines, is famous for its pristine white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and vibrant nightlife scene. With a plethora of water sports activities available, it’s no wonder that the island has become a top tourist destination. But on my recent visit to the island, I decided to try something different and explore the island on two wheels. And it was one of my best decisions.
Starting as early as 5:30 am, the tour takes you on a four-hour adventure through Boracay’s lush green forests, small villages, and beautiful coastline. Then, led by the knowledgeable and friendly Michael of Isla Siklista, you’ll ride a top-of-the-line mountain bike, taking in breathtaking views and experiencing the local culture firsthand.
One of the highlights of the tour is the chance to see the stunning sunrise at Bulabog Beach, which we reach by the end of the tour at 8:30 am. This early start time allows you to enjoy the cool morning breeze while seeing the natural beauty of Boracay in a whole new light.
Along the way, we’ll stop at several viewpoints that provide panoramic views of the island’s coastline. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to capture the moment with some fantastic photos, with Michael on hand to take some shots of you in action on your bike.
The tour also includes visiting the island’s butterfly farm, a unique and educational experience that allows you to see hundreds of colorful butterflies in their natural habitat. And, of course, we can’t forget the scenic Mount Luho viewpoint, the highest point on the island that offers an unforgettable view of the whole island.

I enjoyed biking with Michael, the owner of Isla Siklista, a local bike tour company. Michael, a friendly and knowledgeable guide, provided me with a top-of-the-line mountain bike and safety gear, and we were off to explore the island’s natural beauty.
The tour took us to various parts of the island I had never seen before. We started in the early morning and headed towards the island’s mountainous interior, passing through small villages and lush green forests. The scenery was breathtaking, and the fresh air was refreshing. Moreover, it starkly contrasted the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas.
We stopped at several viewpoints along the way, which provided stunning panoramic views of the island’s coastline. I couldn’t resist taking several photos to capture the moment. Michael was accommodating and took fantastic photos of me on my bike. His photography skills were a welcome bonus to the tour.
One of the tour’s highlights was visiting the island’s butterfly farm. We parked our bikes and took a short walk to the farm, where we saw hundreds of colorful butterflies in their natural habitat. It was a unique and educational experience I would have needed to see if I had stuck to the typical water sports activities.
Another stop on tour was the scenic Mount Luho viewpoint, the highest point on the island. The view from the top was simply breathtaking. I could see the whole island from up there, and it was an unforgettable moment.
One of the things I appreciated about the biking tour was that it allowed me to experience the local culture firsthand. We passed through small villages where locals were going about their daily lives. We saw farmers tending to their fields and fishermen heading out to sea. It was a glimpse into the authentic Boracay I hadn’t seen before.
The biking tour lasted about four hours, and it was the perfect amount of time to see a lot of the island’s natural beauty while still having enough time to enjoy the rest of my day. I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun I had and how much I learned about the island’s history and culture.
Overall, the biking tour with Isla Siklista was a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Boracay. Michael was an excellent guide, and his passion for biking and love of the island made the tour all the more enjoyable. It was refreshing to try something new and see a different side of the island that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise.
If you’re looking to break away from the typical beach activities and want to explore the natural beauty of Boracay, then a biking tour is the perfect option. It’s an excellent way to exercise, enjoy the fresh air, and immerse yourself in the local culture. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have gone on the tour and will undoubtedly do it again on my next visit to the island.
